Overview

The STS Group is a globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France. The Adler Pelzer Group, a global Tier 1 supplier recently acquired STS group to expand its target market in the USA. STS is pioneering operations of Class A surface components for the heavy trucks in the USA. We are seeking experienced Production Operators (day shift) for the brand new STS startup in Salem, Virginia - Roanoke, VA area. Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to manufacture automotive products to meet customer requirements in quality, quantity, and proper packaging and labeling.
• Begin production as scheduled (start of shift).
• Ensure all manufacturing equipment is safe to operate and guards and stop buttons function prior to production.
• Complete other check lists or operator production sheets as needed before and after production.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and throughout the plant.
• Follow APPS and Lean Manufacturing directives and instructions.
• Understand and comprehend operational work instructions.
• Work required overtime, which may include weekend work.
• Maintain good attendance and dependability.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds overhead as needed and be able to stand for long periods.
• Forklift operation is preferred.

Experience and Requirements

• Education: High School or better (substitution of education with equivalent experience).
• Manufacturing experience in desirable areas include: SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) Thermoset, Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) Composites, hand layup thermoset, cast thermosets, fiber reinforced thermoplastics (LFTD, GMT, etc.), resin transfer molding (RTM), paints and adhesives, epoxies, thermoplastic molding, compression molding, tires, and manufacturing plant launch.
• 3 years of previous manufacturing experience.
