Job summary

Now Foods in Sparks, NV is seeking a machine operator to read specifications and set up equipment for producing finished goods. You will adjust stops, start the machines, monitor performance, and help with packaging and transport of products.

Responsibilities include inspecting finished items, performing light maintenance, and adhering to safety and GMP procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with six months related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Reasoning ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirement; sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Activates machine and observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Inspects finish product to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines and making adjustments.
• Assists coworkers to set up machine, and to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished product.
• Reduces downtime by assuring these tasks are performed promptly.
• Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
