Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc., part of Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is hiring a Production Operator I to support stamping, assembly and finishing in our manufacturing facility.

The role involves routine, repetitive work at a workbench or conveyor line, operating basic equipment, performing simple adjustments, and maintaining high safety standards. No experience is required, but reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary, but experience in press operation is preferred.
• Experience in welding/grinding is preferred.
• Experience with sewing and hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine assembly tasks at a workbench or conveyor line.
• Operate machinery and lift/move materials as needed.
• Maintain high safety standards and follow instructions.
• Perform basic equipment adjustments and cleaning.

Position Overivew:

This position can be assigned to any of the three main production departments within the manufacturing facility.

• Stamping: The primary function of this department is to stamp the parts for the metal burial caskets using different types of presses depending on the part that is needed.


• Assembly: The primary function of this department is to weld and grind the stamped parts of the metal burial caskets.


• Finish: The primary function of this department is to install the finishing parts of the metal burial caskets. This includes, but not limited to, bed, mattress, fabric coverings, hardware, panels, etc.

Assembles minor products or components with a small number of details within routine and highly repetitive assembly operations. Typically works at a workbench or on a conveyer line. Common tasks include checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, sniping, tying, or trimming either manually or by machine. Performs basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies/machines or cleaning floors. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Typical job titles include: General Labor, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer, Assembler and Line Operator.
