Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a shop/operator role at our facilities in Kentucky. You will interpret work orders to set up and run equipment, maintain a safe and clean work area, and perform data entry at computer workstations. You will safely operate cranes and other material handling gear to move materials for processing.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED. We offer comprehensive benefits from Day 1, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, life and disability

Qualifications

• Follow schedules, work orders and instructions
• Follow oral and written instructions from crew supervisor
• Perform material handling tasks and hardness tests
• Take measurements with tape measures/calipers

What You'll Do

• Safely operate material handling equipment to transport and position material for processing This can include bridge cranes, jib cranes and forklifts
• Unloading and loading of trucks and/or railcars with overhead cranes

What You'll Need

• Ability to efficiently set-up, operate, monitor and adjust shop equipment to ensure a conforming product This can include the furnaces, straighteners, saws and shot blast
• Ability to follow direction provided on schedules, work orders and work instructions
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions given by the crew supervisor
• Ability to perform material handling tasks and hardness tests with the equipment provided
• Ability to perform measurements with tape measures/calipers, etc

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
