Job summary

Continental is seeking a production operator to safely run industrial machinery and actively participate in a self-directed team. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and timely reporting in a 24/7 plant environment.

You will set up equipment, manage tooling, and assist with basic maintenance while moving materials as needed with a forklift. Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, computerized, quality-oriented environment.
• Work in a self-directed team environment and cooperate with operators, spiral team lead and coordinator.
• Adhere to plant safety policies and use required PPE.
• Set up and operate equipment to produce quality products in spiral production areas, including tooling installation/removal and production/quality reporting.
• Monitor product quality and contact Quality Assurance when needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform basic operator maintenance.
• Operate forklift to move materials as specified, following safety procedures.
• Participate in team meetings, special projects, and maintain housekeeping across the plant.

Job Description

How You Will Make an Impact

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, computerized, quality-oriented environment.
• Part of a work team and must work closely with other operators and spiral team lead and spiral coordinator.
• Work in a safe manner, including the use of all required personal protective equipment as required by plant policy.
• Set up and operate all equipment to safely and efficiently produce a quality product in the spiral production areas of the plant. This includes the installation and removal of proper tooling. This includes completion of all production and quality reports (paper or computer based).
• Control the quality of the product throughout the production process. Contact Quality Assurance if necessary.
• Solve simple mechanical problems, perform basic operator maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as required.
• Drive a fork life as required and pull material to specification and oldest material first.
• Work successfully in a self-directed team environment. This includes attendance and participation in team meetings, committee meetings, special projects and task forces as required.
• Perform routine housekeeping in work area and throughout the plant as required.

The plant is in operation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent; and related experience and/ or training.
