Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Fills cryogenic liquids and pure non-flammable industrial gases according to Airgas Fill Plant Standard Operating Procedures by any of the following methods:
  • Sets pressure gauge to specified reading and monitors for indication of full cylinders.
  • Adjusts valves and observes gauge to fill cylinder to specified pressure.
  • Observes scale indicator to fill cylinders to specified weight.
  • Fills cylinder to full capacity, moves cylinder onto scale using safe handling techniques, and connects vent line to release excess gas and ensure the prescribed weight is met.
  • Positions cylinders onto platform or in manifold racks with the aid of material handling equipment or team-supported techniques.
  • Tests gas for purity using testing equipment to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Inspects and evaluates empty cylinders to ensure safety.
  • Examines exterior of cylinder for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns, and evaluates whether to quarantine the cylinder for further expert inspection.
  • Contributes to team goals and supports plant operations as needed.
  • Conforms to all safety requirements, SOPs, and emergency response procedures.
  • Reports safety hazards or violations to the Safety Manager.
  • Maintains and safeguards the fill plant equipment, tools, and parts to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment and flow. Collects waste and excess materials as part of quality control procedures.
  • Identifying and maintaining lost piece inspection and packaging activities.
  • Ensures all instructions are followed and documents forms are accurate.
  • Resets and cleans all cylinder, gloves, restraints, etc. as necessary for the next operator.
  • Keeps work equipment, pedals work and tools in good condition.
  • Assists in the review of procedures and helps to refine best practices if necessary.
  • Uses equipment, knowledge and best practice to maintain the quality of the jobs being done.
  • Seals secure crates and passes orders, checks, inspected for shipping.
  • Assembles the cylinder back to the rack or manifold.
Qualifications
  • Ability to become forklift certified is required.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets, labels and all other written communications.
