Job summary

Valeo is seeking a Production Operator in Winchester, VA, to support daily manufacturing operations. You will palletize shipments, unload boxes, label and repalletize, and participate in cross-training on multiple lines within a fast-paced plant.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and be able to read instructions, perform basic math, and follow safety and SOP procedures. Overtime may be required, with a focus on a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, plus 1–3 months related experience.
  • Ability to read instructions and write simple notes.
  • Basic math: compute rates and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense in instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Palletizes shipments and applies labels correctly.
  • Unload boxes, label shipments, and repalletize as needed.
  • Stack empty totes for return shipments to customers.
  • Follow SOM’s for each area.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic and organized work area.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Handle parts carefully and have a good memory.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
