Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Production Operator for its encapsulation process in Sauk City, WI. You will mix chemicals, manage production runs, document results, and ensure GMP compliance. The role involves operating a fluid bed unit, setting up the pump system, and maintaining strict cleanliness.

The position starts on 1st shift with a 7:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. schedule for 3-4 months, then may transition to 2nd or 3rd shift with differential pay.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a production or food/pharmaceutical environment with chemical mixing and SOP adherence.
  • Experience documenting production runs and batch records, including weights, temperature checks, and mixing speed.
  • Strong math skills, including proficiency with decimals for chemical calculations.
  • High attention to detail, verified through references.
  • High School diploma.
  • Reliable work history and attendance, verified through references.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator who will play a vital role in our encapsulation process. The successful candidate will be responsible for mixing chemicals and managing production runs while adhering to GMP regulations. This role involves measuring, weighing, documenting, and ensuring cleanliness post-production.

  • Ability to work independently in separate production suites to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Comfortable working with narcotics and hazardous pharmaceutical compounds.
Work Environment

This role operates within a cleanroom setting, requiring employees to maintain shoes specifically for facility use. Operators will wear provided uniforms, lab coats, hairnets, and booties. The work involves exposure to hazardous chemicals, including narcotics. Production suites are three stories tall, necessitating stair climbing. After production, suites must be power washed and sanitized. Training occurs on the 1st shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., Mon-Fri) for approximately 3-4 months before transitioning to 2nd or 3rd shift. Shift differentials of 6% and 10% apply to 2nd and 3rd shifts, respectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
