Job summary

Carpenter Technology is seeking a Production Operator in McBee, SC to operate fabricating machines forming and resizing coil and bar, and to perform in-line inspection to ensure customer specs and quality standards.

You will read work tickets, coordinate with prior shift operators, set rollers and guides, monitor safety, measure work piece dimensions, and adjust equipment for accurate sizes and surface finish.

## Production OperatorApply: McBee, SC: Full time: Posted 2 Days Ago: 26808SUMMARYTends fabricating machines that form and resize coil and bar such as pre-straighteners, peelers, straighteners, saws, sanders, eddy current machines, centerless grinders, and performs in-line inspection operations to assure customer specifications and quality standards by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned, including but not limited to housekeeping, cross training and operator level maintenance in support of equipment operation. Responsibilities also include attention to safety according to specific training and safety rules.1. Reads and implements order requirements that are described on the work ticket.2. Consults with previous shift operators to assure a smooth transition from shift to shift. Examples include determining machine adjustments and material requirements for jobs that will be run.3. Set rollers and guides as specified by job requirements.4. Observes machine operation throughout the line or work area with particular attention being made to safety, detection of work piece defects and machine operation.5. Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and makes subsequent adjustments as required to achieve proper dimensions and surface condition.6. When changes to a size occurs the operator checks and ensures that uncoilers, pre-straighteners, peelers, straighteners, grinders saws, and/or sander/polishers are set up properly for the new job. The operator replaces parts and makes adjustments as necessary.7.
