Job summary

Arconic Lafayette, IN is seeking team‑oriented production workers to operate equipment and move metal through the plant, measure dimensions, set up production equipment, inspect material, and record data.

You will work evenings, nights, holidays, and overtime as needed; strong emphasis on safety and quality is required, with experience using hand tools and reading basic shop drawings preferred.

Qualifications

• Some High School; willingness to work a fixed or rotating 24x7 schedule (8- or 12-hour shifts).
• Satisfactory completion of a comprehensive skills test and background checks.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Experience with machine-based equipment, saws, punch press and milling machines, and reading basic shop drawings.

We are seeking team-oriented candidates to perform a wide variety of production duties including, but not limited to operating industrial trucks and cranes to move metal and other materials throughout the plant; measuring dimensions of metal in fractions and decimals using steel tape, micrometers, and other measuring devices, cut samples, setting up and operating production equipment; inspecting metal and materials, utilizing computer terminals to record metal flow and data through our process. You will be required to work evenings, nights, holidays, and overtime.

• This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aluminum product knowledge and/or experience with door and storefront fabrication
• Self-motivated, focused on detail, people and service oriented, and possess good communication skills.
• Experience with machine-based equipment, saws, punch press and/or milling machines.
• Ability to utilize hand and power tools; ability to read basic shop drawings, measurements, fractions, and decimals.

About the Team

Lafayette Operations in Lafayette, IN is located approximately 60 miles from the state's capital, Indianapolis and is the home to Purdue University. Our Lafayette location has been continuously running in Lafayette community since 1938. We are an Aluminum Extrusions plant for Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial and Defense facility.
