Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services is seeking production operators to mold and trim products to specifications, working on a molding and trimming press and related equipment. The role supports a cell-based manufacturing approach with rotation through multiple functions as outlined in the site playbook.

Shift options include 8-hour 3rd and 2nd shifts. Starting pay is $22.70–$24.75 per hour, with full benefits beginning Day 1 and opportunities for growth within a Lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No minimum experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic GMP knowledge and ability to follow documentation.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Team-oriented with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Process molded/trimmed product through washing and drying per site instructions.
• Ensure equipment is set up accurately.
• Maintain product flow from mold press to trim press.
• Operate a mold press to produce molded panels.
• Operate a manual/automatic trim press as needed.
• Process products through required treatments (sort, silicone, chlorination, etc.).
• Set up pack scales and prepare carton labels for boxing/shipping.
• Notify Area Supervisor of potential production/quality issues.
• Maintain documentation for traceability.
• Inspect molded/trimmed work for quality.
• Move materials as required.
• Clean and prep workstations/equipment for next shift.
• Promote and support Lean processes.
• Comply with all safety rules and policies.
• Ensure regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a trainer, mold and trim products to an established level of specifications in terms of quality and quantity on a molding and trimming press and other equipment supporting the manufacturing process. Production operators will work as a team in a cell concept rotating through multiple job functions throughout the day following a playbook for optimal performance.

Position Options

Based on experience and qualifications, applicants may be considered for either the Extruding Compounding Operator or Production Operator position.

Compensation

• Starting pay $22.70 - $24.75 per hour

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Process trimmed product through washing and drying process per site SOI’s and work instructions.
• Ensure that the equipment is set up accurately.
• Ensure continual flow of product through the module from the mold press thru the trim press.
• Operate a mold press to produce molded panels of product following site SOI’s and work instructions.
• Operate a manual/automatic trim press as needed following site SOI’s and work instructions.
• Process product through any required special treatments such as sort, silicone, chlorination, etc.
• As needed, set up pack scales for weighing and packing of finished product and prepare carton labels for boxing and shipping.
• Alert the Area Supervisor to conditions that may prevent meeting production and quality expectations.
• Accurately maintain all required documentation and paperwork to ensure product traceability.
• Inspect molded/trimmed work to ensure quality product is being produced.
• Move materials into and out of the area as required.
• Properly clean and prep assigned workstations/equipment during and prior to the next available shift.
• Promotes and supports a Lean environment.
• Conforms with and abides by all corporate and site-specific regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
• Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience

• No minimum experience required.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Must possess an acute attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, i.e. use a mouse/keyboard.
• Ability to apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• General use of computer work station and ability to use SAP commands is preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work as a team member and make general decisions within authorized job responsibilities.
• Must be able to train and guide others as required.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Physical Requirements

Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
