Job summary

Kids for the Future in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Production Operator to join our solar panel manufacturing team. This entry-level role focuses on safely operating equipment, handling materials, and supporting production targets.

You will learn to perform basic maintenance, respond to alarms, document quality checks, and work with factory computer systems, while following SOPs and collaborating with colleagues.

Qualifications

Description

The Production Operator is an entry level position in the solar panel manufacturing process. The Production Operator will safely operate specific equipment, manage material and processes to manufacture high-quality, photovoltaic solar modules at the required rates. The production operator will learn to perform operational preventative maintenance procedures, respond to machine alarms, perform basic quality control procedures, and interface with equipment and factory computer systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sets up and operate production equipment to produce various commercial products following specifications, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Monitors production output to ensure quality and conformance to required metrics.
  • Maintains accurate records of production activities, reporting any inconsistencies or equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to established safety procedures, including material handling guidelines and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Interfaces with equipment computers to monitor parameters and alarms
  • Monitors process data & makes decisions based on procedures to maintain process control
  • Recognizes conditions the require escalation and provide communication on the issues
  • Collects data and provides reporting when requested or as needed
  • Provide communication with team members and leadership during shift changes
  • Ensures waste is discarded timely and appropriately
  • Assists new employees and supervisors/leaders in achieving their tasks and work targets.
  • Performs temporary job reassignments as needed.
  • Executes work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist the team in meeting production goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • No diploma or experience required; experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge to work with different computer applications.
  • Ability to use mobile systems, communication devices, and simple tool interfaces.
  • Ability to use simple hand tools and measurement tools
  • Basic Math skills appropriate to learn typical manufacturing production metrics
  • Able and willing to learn (interface with machine control panels, recognize quality, perform data analytics, troubleshoot issues and problem-solve
  • Proficiency in English language skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend on occasional basis
  • Ability to reach above shoulder and below waist frequently
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
  • 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required
