Kelly Services is seeking a Chemical Production Operator for the Georgetown, SC area. This direct hire position offers a rotating 12-hour schedule and a pay rate of $24-27/hr based on skills and experience.

The role focuses on operating advanced chemical production equipment and adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities include operating reactors and packaging systems, loading raw materials, performing weight calculations, and ensuring quality control.

Qualifications

• Experience in production or chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Willingness to rotate shifts including days/evenings/overnights/weekends.
• Proficiency reading/speaking English and following written instructions.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) preferred.
• Comfort around moving machinery and chemicals; outdoor work occasionally.
• Able to follow OSHA respirator requirements.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Willingness to overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of LOTO and confined space safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control process equipment such as reactors, dryers, hoppers, packaging technology, valves, and vents.
• Load and stage raw materials to production equipment and areas.
• Perform weighing operations, including gross vs net weight calculations.
• Package intermediates and final products using automated and manual equipment.
• Follow batch sheet SOPs and quality standards, monitoring cycle time, temperature, flow rate, and raw materials.
• Use computer and control room systems to direct processes and/or people.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment per company and OSHA standards.
• Perform quality control sampling of in-process materials.

Typical day / Responsibilities

Qualifications / What makes you a fit

• Previous experience in a production or chemical manufacturing environment (highly preferred)
• Ability and willingness to work a rotating shift schedule including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends
• Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow written instructions in English
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel preferred)
• Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and chemicals, and outdoors occasionally
• Ability to follow OSHA standards for wearing a respirator (clean-shaven except for a mustache)
• Previous forklift experience (preferred)
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to follow safety procedures for confined space and lockout/tagout (LOTO)
