Job summary

Sdmsconnect is seeking a dependable Production / Powder Coater to support powder coating and production operations in Michigan. This hands-on role combines coating with utility tasks to keep production flowing and quality up.

You’ll contribute to shipping, receiving, and maintenance while growing within our manufacturing environment. The role offers a 1st shift, 8–10 hour days, full-time temp-to-hire status, and a pay range of $18.00–$20.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Powder coating knowledge is a plus.
• Okuma controls experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic shop math skills, including decimals and geometry.
• Forklift experience is preferred or willingness to become certified.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Powder coating and support production flow.
• Operate Hem Saw to cut and stage raw material for production.
• Label, paint, and store incoming raw material.
• Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks and move materials.
• Set up and operate drill and tap machines.
• Monitor coolant, oil, and waste barrels, replacing/refilling as needed.
• Operate the clip machine and perform quality checks on finished parts.
• Assist with shipping/receiving, laser etching, deburring, sandblasting, tumbling, and assembly.
• Perform basic machine and building maintenance, including changing filters and light bulbs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow safety/quality standards.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Production / Powder Coater to support our powder coating and production operations. This hands‑on role combines powder coating operations with utility responsibilities to keep production running efficiently. Duties include powder coating, supporting production flow, performing quality inspections, and assisting with shipping, receiving, and facility maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to grow within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Utility & Production Support

• Powder coating
• Operate the Hem Saw to cut and stage raw material for production.
• Organize, label, paint, and store incoming raw material.
• Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move materials throughout the facility.
• Set up and operate drill and tap machines.
• Monitor coolant, oil, and waste barrels, replacing or refilling as needed.
• Operate the clip machine and perform quality checks on finished parts.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, laser etching, deburring, sandblasting, tumbling, and part assembly.
• Perform basic machine and building maintenance, including changing filters, monitoring coolant levels, changing light bulbs, and seasonal outdoor maintenance.
• Empty trash, remove scrap, clean chip gondolas, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.

Compensation

Pay Range: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of powder coating is a plus.
• Experience with Okuma controls is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
