Airgas, located in White Plains, NY, is hiring a Production Operator to safely handle and fill gas products into cylinders while following procedures and safety rules. You will perform analyses, calculate mixtures, and document results, ensuring compliant and safe operations on all shifts.
Responsibilities include operating control panels and forklifts, maintaining records, and contributing to team success. A high school diploma or GED and 1 year of related tech experience are required.
The Production Operator will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical and high pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. The Production Operator will be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures. Performs cylinder analyses & supports alignment with government and company standards. Calculates gas mixtures to contribute to quality standards and documents results. Ensures that a mixture can be safely made. Identifies and coordinates cylinder and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance. Operates control panels, containing valves and pressure gauges, and scales with a precision-oriented approach to gas mixtures. Completes all meaningful records to accurately capture all production actions. Upholds and promotes company procedures and government regulations relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials. Safely operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse/material-handling equipment. Loads/unloads cylinders on/off pallets; ensuring they are strapped in. Contributing to team success as needed.
