Job summary

Ibstock Plc in Sheffield, UK, is seeking a Production Operative with concrete block press or machine setting experience to join our Anstone factory. This full-time role offers a 4-on/4-off rotating shift from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, totaling 42 hours per week.

You will clean machinery, operate mobile plant, support process improvements, and uphold 5S and health and safety standards while contributing to production targets. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritise workload on a rotating shift.

To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Production Operative who has experience with a concrete block press or machine setting to come and join our team at our Anstone factory in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

42 Hours per week - 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am

Shift pattern - 4 days on. 4 days off. Rotating between days and nights

Key responsibilities:

• Ability to take ownership of the role
• Hands on Cleaning of machinery and plant
• Ability to rotor and prioritise your own workload
• Operation of mobile plant as required
• Greasing and oiling of production plant
• Adhering to health & safety, quality and environmental systems
• To deliver through the process improvement initiatives and continuous improvementAssist with production when required
• Creating and maintaining the highest standards of 5S’s housekeeping and environmental management
• Assist in the development of SSOP’s and Risk Assessments

Essential qualifications & experience:

• Excellent timekeeping, attendance and flexibility
• Self-motivated
• Numerate & literate.
• Team working attitude.
• Ability to also work alone.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High degree of Health & Safety awareness.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on your own.
• Ability to learn to operate key manufacturing and mobile plant.
• Willingness to undergo further training and development
• .Previous labour intensive role

Desirable qualifications & experience:

• Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment.
• A certified counterbalance FLT driver is advantageous
• .Experience with a concrete block press or machine setting background
