Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company in Anchorage, AK is seeking an engineer to assess problems and develop profitable solutions for completion, workover, and facilities projects. You should work with minimal supervision but seek guidance when needed.

Responsibilities include analyzing daily production data, LOE, planning logging operations, overseeing completion/workover activities, writing procedures, and estimating project costs. Bachelor's degree required and 4+ years in oil&gas production engineering.

Qualifications

  • Four (4)years minimumof oil and gas production field operations engineering experience.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately and proficiently interpret production related data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of monitoring, gathering, and analyzing daily production data such as oil, water, and gas producing rates and pressures and temperatures and understands how to respond to the data to efficiently maximize hydrocarbon producing rate and operating profits.
  • Capable of analyzing and understanding Lease Operating Expenses (LOE).
  • Functional knowledge of production systems operations, to include flow line heaters, test and production separators, oil/water storage & disposal, gas & liquid metering, dehydration facilities, gas compression, and flowlines.
  • Functional knowledge of artificial lift processes including sizing and selection of gas compression, gas lift systems, electric submersible pump systems, plunger lift systems, foaming with capillary strings, and progressive cavity pumps.
  • Capable of planning and interpreting both open and cased hole logging operations and data.
  • Proficient in writing and overseeing detailed procedures to execute completion and workover projects.
  • Proficient in estimating and managing the costs of completion and workover projects.
  • Capable of performing an economic analysis of completion and workover projects using company methodology and parameters.
  • Capable of assisting site supervisors in the field in the execution of completion and workover projects.
  • Capable of applying effective people skills to interact with partners, service providers, peers, support staff, and field personnel.
  • Must be willing and capable of effectively soliciting ideas from all people involved in a project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and "buy-in".
  • Can implement creative and entrepreneurial thinking and techniques to contribute to the company's vision: Be the premier private energy company in America by efficiently developing energy resources that would otherwise be lost.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc).
