This position combines technical expertise in live AVL production, filming, recording, and post-production editing with the strategic ability to recruit, train, and oversee high-performing teams. The ideal candidate possesses professional proficiency in audio, video, and lighting production and a passion for digital evangelism and storytelling – effectively turning ministry visions into compelling content that engages members, seekers, and donors across YouTube, podcast platforms, social media, and beyond.

AVL production and technical proficiency is the primary focus, as this role will own the health and excellence of the church's live audio, video, lighting, presentation, and recording systems. The Production & Media Coordinator is accountable for seamless AVL production execution during all Sunday services and church events, whether they are directly operating a console or overseeing other operators. Additionally, this individual must bring hands-on technical proficiency to optimally operate soundboards and all of the church’s other AVL equipment.

  • Volunteer Training, Oversight & Care: Recruit, train, and oversee the AVL production team, with management support whenever needed. Ensure the team is appropriately staffed and scheduled for all Sunday services and church events and that the team receives coaching, encouragement, feedback, and spiritual investment and care.
  • Video & Media Support: Support the church’s digital presence and storytelling through the production of video and digital media content assigned by management and the communications team. Assist with recording, filming, post-production editing, and distribution.
  • Financial Coordination & Asset Management: Oversee the tracking, organization, and maintenance of all technical equipment and operational supplies within allocated departmental budgets. Track production expenses, maintain equipment and inventory records, coordinate approved purchases, and recommend repairs, replacements, and upgrades to management.
Expected Performance Outcomes
  • AVL Excellence: Ensure technical excellence in audio, video, lighting, presentation, and recording systems across all Sunday services and church events – maintaining high professional quality in all areas.
  • Volunteer Care & Oversight: Train and cultivate a healthy, skilled, and unified AVL production team – fostering a culture of spiritual care, technical growth, and consistent service excellence.
  • Video & Media Creation: Produce high quality video and digital media content, as assigned by management and the communications team, and publish and distribute it across the appropriate platforms and/or teams.
  • Administrative & Operational Execution: Track production expenses, maintain equipment and inventory records, and coordinate purchases for all technical equipment and operational supplies. Maintain departmental organization standards and recommend repairs, replacements, or upgrades to management.
Required Qualifications
  • Alignment: Strong alignment with the Union City Church’s theology, vision, culture, and values – with a ministry-minded approach to technical excellence.
  • AVL Fluency: Proficient operating and troubleshooting professional AVL systems – with the ability to mix live music and spoken-word environments. Specifically, skilled in operating audio, video, lighting, presentation, recording, cabling, monitors, and other related production systems with excellence.
  • Video Production Competence: Proven abilities with filming and editing.
  • Execution & Problem-Solving: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and consistent follow-through.
  • Composure: Skilled in diagnosing problems, making accurate decisions, and communicating clearly under live-event pressure.
