Seneca Foods Corporation in Payette, ID is seeking a Production Mechanic for the night shift to maintain and repair production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support continuous production with safe, reliable operation.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical disciplines is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools; able to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct routine maintenance on production machinery to keep systems operating at peak efficiency.

Job Overview

The Production Mechanic plays a critical role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production machinery and equipment. This position involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication tasks to support the continuous flow of production and maintain equipment reliability. The Production Mechanic is a skilled technician responsible for minimizing downtime and contributing to overall production efficiency.

Machine Maintenance and Repair

• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production machinery to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements of faulty machine components.

Preventive Maintenance

• Follow preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment.
• Replace worn or damaged parts proactively to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.

Safety And Compliance

• Commitment to safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical disciplines is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined with high mechanical aptitude.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Ability to effectively use computers and technology.

Work Environment

The Production Mechanic works primarily in a manufacturing or production facility. This role may require occasional work in various conditions, including exposure to loud machinery, hot surfaces and temperatures, wet/cold environment, fumes, and dust. Proper safety equipment (PPE) and precautions are essential to ensure a safe working environment.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 10-hour night shift. Start and end times may vary based on operational and production needs. Additional overtime may be required based on production and customer requirements.
