UFP Industries is seeking a Production Management Trainee to build a broad, hands-on understanding of plant operations and manufacturing processes. The role starts under a dedicated mentor, with limited discretion in prioritizing work and some room for creative problem solving within established guidelines.

As the trainee progresses, you will learn product costing, production scheduling, and budget/expense controls while gaining exposure to HR policies and company procedures across facilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in MS Excel required.

Responsabilités

• Develops comprehensive knowledge of Company products and procedures through on-the-job training activities.
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of panel and lumber grades
• Develops knowledge of lumber math and efficient utilization of materials and develops a full understanding of cuts and yields.
• Learns how to operate the Company’s business system in order to perform required administrative functions.
• Develops detailed knowledge of product costing.
• Develops an understanding of the production scheduling process.
• Develops working knowledge of the budget and expense control process.
• Supervises activities consistent with all Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Develops working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, efficiency standards, and safety.
• Develops working knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and practices.
• Develops a detailed understanding of operations by touring other UFP facilities and customer locations.
• Completes courses and assignments as directed.
• Prepares various reports as required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Summary

Works under the close direction of the assigned mentor and exercises little discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis and a small degree of creativity is expected.

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $57,000 - $63,000 annually dependent on experience*

• pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay (only include one from the list below based on the job):

• For salaried bonus positions: Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
