Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Production Manager for East Plant, 2nd shift, to lead daily poultry production on the floor, ensuring safety, quality, yield, and efficiency. Responsibilities include coordinating across departments, monitoring workflows, and addressing real-time operational issues to maintain a productive facility.

The role requires 5+ years in poultry/food and 3+ years in supervision, with a high school diploma/GED (Bachelor’s preferred). Competitive salary and benefits offered.

  • Monitor performance and implement improvements for productivity and cost reductions.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, and food safety standards; promote a safe work environment.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to supervisors and team members; partner with HR to support staffing and development.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist on-call as needed.

PRODUCTION MANAGER - EAST PLANT 2ND SHIFT

In this key role, you'llserve as the frontline leader overseeing daily operations within our poultry production facility.You'llensure production targets are met whilemaintaininghigh standardsfor safety, qualityassurance, and efficiency. Based primarily on the production floor,you'llcoordinate teamduties,monitorequipment and workflow, and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations. The role also requires agility to respond to operational issues in real time, helpingmaintaina productive and well-functioning workplace.

  • Manage production operations to achieve safety, quality, yield, efficiency, and cost objectives. Coordinate activities across Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, Shipping, and Receiving to support operational goals.
  • Monitor department performance and implement improvements to drive productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, food safety, quality, and company standards while promoting a safe work environment and addressing safety risks and hazardous conditions.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to supervisors and team members while partnering with Human Resources and plant leadership to support staffing, engagement, retention, succession planning, and operational excellence.
  • Encourage open communication and employee involvement to build team morale and support company values and culture.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Sanitation teams to maintain equipment reliability and operational readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as needed to support Plant Operations.

What You’ll Need

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ year’s experience in the poultry/food industry required with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to make independent decisions, collaborate effectively with operations and plant leadership, manage multiple priorities, and utilize basic computer applications in a fast-paced environment.
