Job summary

IPEX is a leading North American provider of advanced plastic piping systems seeking a Production Manager for our Kingman, AZ plant. You will oversee all production operations, collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, HSE and cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality and efficiency goals.

The role emphasizes Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S initiatives, with a focus on budget oversight and developing talent across the plant.

Qualifications

• College/university in engineering or manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of progressive production leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading teams, developing talent, managing employee relations, and influencing performance.
• Lean manufacturing experience; Six Sigma is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to safely deliver customer requirements while optimizing productivity, quality, inventory levels, labor utilization, and manufacturing costs.
• Drive operational excellence through production planning, performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Analyze production metrics, downtime, and operational results to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and environmental, health, and safety requirements, while championing a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the management of raw materials, packaging materials, regrind, and non-hazardous waste in accordance with facility procedures.
• Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors and plant employees through performance management, training, succession planning, talent development, and recruitment activities.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, HSE, and other cross-functional teams to achieve production objectives and improve operational performance.
• Lead and sustain initiatives such as Lean manufacturing practices and 5S programs to maintain an organized, efficient, and high-performing workplace.
• Manage departmental budgets and expenditures and provide operational reporting to support business decisions.

Job Summary

Qualifications & Experience

• Completion of college and/or university in engineering or manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of progressive production leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ability to manage priorities and deliver results.
• Proven experience leading teams, developing talent, managing employee relations, and influencing organizational performance.
• Solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing; Six Sigma experience is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality systems, performance management, and resource allocation.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and good general computer skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
