Job Description

The salary for this position is $85,000-$115,000.

This position is for Production Manager to be part of an expert team of technicians that will assist the crews of US Navy Carriers and Surface Ships perform preventive and corrective maintenance to Navy requirements. The team will help sailors find and fix maintenance issues on ship's systems and equipment by providing training to sailors on the procedures and skills needed to perform repairs. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of production and processes.

The Production Manager will be responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and providing work direction to others. The Production Manager will work with Navy personnel to conduct detailed inspections of various ship compartments and systems and manage multiple jobs during US Navy ship maintenance periods. The candidate should understand the specialty trades functions and tools necessary to perform shipboard maintenance work. The production manager develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. He/she schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. Performs quality inspections on finished work.

Required Skills and Experiences
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in aircraft carrier or surface ships as applicable HM&E engineering, including
  • Five (5) years’ experience in coordinating and supervising personnel effort in accomplishing shipboard HM&E repairs. Two (2) years should be closely involved with aircraft carrier or surface ships during maintenance availabilities, including procedures, work integration, administration and maintenance scheduling.
  • Four (4) years’ experience in administration of the Navy Quality Assurance Program, 3M and Supply System.
Desired Experience

Active-duty tours on surface ships and aircraft carriers in a technical rating.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

Degree Requirements

High School diploma.
