Our Client is a results-driven composites manufacturing company seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations at its Reno, Nevada facility.
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing and improving production operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes, strong production leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and quality systems.
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Composites Production Manager to lead production operations, optimize manufacturing processes, manage production personnel, and ensure that products are delivered on time, within budget, and according to established quality standards.
The successful candidate will combine hands-on composites manufacturing knowledge with strong leadership, scheduling, resource-management, and process-improvement capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
- Manage daily production operations to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of quality products.
- Monitor production activities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow.
- Coordinate manufacturing resources to meet production requirements and customer commitments.
- Ensure production activities are completed according to established schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and company standards.
- Address production issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manufacturing Capacity Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage manufacturing capacity plans.
- Coordinate production schedules based on available resources, equipment, personnel, and production requirements.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet production goals.
- Monitor production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks or scheduling constraints.
- Adjust production plans as necessary to maintain delivery commitments.
Composite Manufacturing
- Apply hands-on knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes to production operations.
- Support and improve composite manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency with vacuum bagging processes used in composite manufacturing.
- Identify opportunities to improve composite manufacturing efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
- Work with production personnel to ensure composite manufacturing processes are followed correctly.
Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement
- Utilize Lean manufacturing tools to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
- Develop and implement composite manufacturing process improvements.
- Evaluate production processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production organization.
Production Staff Supervision
- Supervise production employees and coordinate daily manufacturing activities.
- Provide direction and support to production staff.
- Monitor employee performance and production productivity.
- Ensure employees follow established manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Support a productive and professional work environment.
Staff Training & Development
- Train production employees on manufacturing processes, procedures, and company expectations.
- Identify training and development needs among production personnel.
- Support employee development and skill improvement.
- Help build a capable and efficient production workforce.
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees as needed.
Facilities & Equipment
- Maintain manufacturing facilities and production equipment.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate necessary maintenance or repairs to minimize production disruptions.
- Ensure manufacturing equipment remains available and suitable for production requirements.
- Identify equipment-related opportunities for operational improvement.
Quality Management & ISO Compliance
- Understand and enforce ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
- Ensure production personnel follow established quality procedures.
- Support consistent product quality throughout manufacturing operations.
- Identify quality issues and work toward effective corrective actions.
- Promote compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
Resource Allocation
- Allocate labor, equipment, materials, and other resources according to production requirements.
- Balance available resources with production schedules and capacity needs.
- Identify resource constraints and communicate potential issues to management.
- Optimize utilization of personnel and manufacturing resources.
Communication & Collaborationuil>

Composites Manufacturing Experience
- Hands-on experience working with composite materials and manufacturing processes.

Production Management
- Experience managing manufacturing or production operations.
- Experience with production scheduling and capacity planning.

Lean Manufacturing
- Good understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and principles.
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
