Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Production Manager in Nashville, NC to supervise all phases of the homebuilding process and coordinate with Design and Operations teams.

You will lead multi-department teams, ensure quality standards, and improve production efficiency through Lean methods, with emphasis on safety and schedule adherence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience preferred in construction/manufactured housing.
  • Experience with HUD building codes and safety protocols desired.
  • Ability to develop and coach teams and optimize production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large teams and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to production timelines and priorities across departments.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development for personnel.
  • Apply Lean, 6S, Kaizen and Six Sigma methods to improve quality and reduce lead times.

As a member of our team you'll enjoy excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, and an encouraging culture that supports work / life balance.**Position Summary:** The Production Manager is responsible for supervising all phases of the homebuilding process, working directly with the Design and Operations Teams.**Duties / Responsibilities:*** Ability to lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a team* Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codes* Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st - must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines* Reviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessary* Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met* Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and team member engagement* Improve production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessary* Other duties as assigned**Qualifications:*** High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience* Minimum 5 years' relevant management experience* Previous construction experience strongly preferred* Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired* Excellent planning and organizational skills* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels* Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skills* Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively* Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired* Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols* Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment**Physical Demands:*** Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.* Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.* Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.* Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.* Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.Full-time team members have the flexibility to create their own health, dental, and vision benefits package.
