Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential construction experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience managing schedules and crews.
• Field leadership background (foreman, production manager, or similar).
• Strong hands-on carpentry skills (finish and rough).
• Able to lead teams and work in the field daily.
• Clear communication with clients, crews, and trade partners.
• Michigan Builder's License preferred or willingness to obtain one.

About this position

Nelson Builders is seeking an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of residential remodeling projects from initial planning through project completion. This is a leadership-driven field role — you'll manage crews, collaborate with subcontractors and trade partners, and direct the overall flow of each project, staying hands‑on with carpentry work as required to keep things on schedule.

You'll handle the daily management of field operations: building schedules, holding the team accountable to quality expectations, and making sure every project runs smoothly from start to finish. Strong leadership sits at the core of this role, backed by solid carpentry expertise and sharp on‑site management skills.

Compensation:

$45+ hourly
