Job summary

Clayton Homes is hiring a Production Manager to supervise the homebuilding process and lead cross-functional teams in Fort Worth. You will drive quality, safety, and throughput while partnering with Design and Operations to meet schedules.

Production Manager

Job Profile: JP00692

Job Status: Full Time / Salary Position

Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for supervising all phases of the homebuilding process, working directly with the Design and Operations Teams.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Ability to lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a team
  • Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codes
  • Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st - must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines
  • Reviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessary
  • Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met
  • Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and team member engagement
  • Improve production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessary.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant management experience
  • Previous construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills - Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively
  • Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired
  • Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
