Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Farms Operations Lead to manage daily swine production across facilities, ensuring targets are met and SOPs are followed.

The role involves supervising farm managers, coordinating schedules, analyzing data, and communicating with operations leadership. Local travel 2-3 times per week is expected; there is no hire/fire authority.

Qualifications

• Three years of related swine production experience.
• At least one year overseeing daily swine operations and directing farm personnel.
• Experience following detailed standard operating procedures.
• Experience managing four or more animal caretakers for sow farms.
• Experience in gestation through farrowing; vaccination and artificial insemination in swine.
• Ability to read and interpret safety files, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 300 pounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Local travel required 2–3 times a week.

• Supervise and develop farm managers for responsible sites.
• Serve as a link between operations managers and farm managers by handling questions, interpreting and presenting data and helping resolve work-related problems.
• Audit farms on a weekly basis to ensure employees are complying with all standard operating procedures and facilities are being properly maintained.
• Advise farm managers on meeting production and cost targets as well as completing and submitting production reports in a timely manner.
• Create and manage employee work schedules and maintain accurate records of personnel paperwork, including performance reviews and feedback provided to employees.
• No hire/fire authority.

Requirements

• Three years of related swine production experience. Must have at least one year of experience overseeing daily swine operations and directing the work of farm personnel.
• Must have experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must have experience managing four or more animal caretakers for sow farms.
• Must have experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing and have experience training in vaccination and artificial insemination in swine.
• Must have experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Local travel required 2-3 times a week.
