Job description

Major Areas of Focus

Our Production Managers (PM) report to the Director of Operations of one of our Service Centers. PMs may oversee 3-5 Crew Leaders and their crew members. A Senior PM may be assigned additional crews. The PM may also be assigned one or more Field Supervisors (FS) to lead. If a Field Supervisor is assigned, the PM will utilize them as an assistant in overseeing and accomplishing the production assigned to them.

The critical components of our business operation that fall under the responsibility of a PM include his/her assigned field workers, fleet and resources, and specific work production, which may be reoccurring or project-based. Planning, scheduling, dispatching, in-field training, supervision and development, quality control, productivity, and direct cost management are core to the PM position.

The Production Manager - Snow Management/Landscape Maintenance will report to the designated Operations Manager or Director of Operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may also be assigned:
Planning & Scheduling Requirements
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager to schedule production on the team calendar.
  • Sources, picks up, and delivers materials to the Service Center or job sites.
  • Purchases supplies and materials according to purchasing guidelines using a company purchasing card or the requisition system.
  • Prints and delivers work tickets to assigned Crew Leaders.
  • Closes production tickets in Omnia-SDS and reviews job costing reports.
Production Responsibilities
  • Is present for Egress and assists with the execution of The ECF Egress Standard.
  • Dispatches assigned crews and collaborates with other PMs or the Operations Manager for equipment or personnel shortfalls.
  • Supervises crews in the field, driving production and managing job hours and material budgets.
  • Maintains safety, production, and quality guidelines in the field.
  • Ensures fleet maintenance, proper operation, and timely reporting and scheduling of repairs.
  • Ensures that fleet, personnel uniforms & grooming, facility cleanliness, and job sites meet our standards of professionalism.
  • Completes all required paperwork or reports for management.
  • Communicates with clients when appropriate, providing updates on production efforts, field requests, and relays information to the Operations Manager.
Sales & Sales Support Responsibilities
  • Performs quality control audits and identifies project opportunities for customers.
  • Assists with estimating and takeoffs for proposals as requested by leadership.
  • Prepares estimates and proposals as directed.
  • Presents proposals to customers when required.
  • Attends client meetings with Account Executives or Leadership as needed.
Recruiting, Training & Development Responsibilities
  • Conducts interviews, screens, and hires field workers under leadership guidance.
  • Assists with employee orientation.
  • Trains Crew Leaders and Crew Members in technical skills, safety, and soft skills.
  • Implements disciplinary protocols for subordinates.
  • Supports specialized training courses for field personnel.
  • Helps employees build their careers.
Language Skills
  • Requires proficiency in English for written and oral communication, data interpretation, and work under deadlines.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently requires standing, walking, and sitting. Occasionally requires handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Must be able to lift/move up to 60 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Long hours may be necessary during emergencies or storm management.
Work Environment
  • Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and weather. Noise level is usually moderate.
Travel & Development
  • Travel within the market served by the Service Center and occasionally to other centers or corporate offices for training.
Security
  • Must pass security background checks, have a valid driver’s license, and meet driving record standards. Use of illicit drugs is prohibited during employment. The company reserves the right to reject or terminate employment based on background checks.
