Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Production Management Trainee to develop a thorough understanding of plant operations and manufacturing processes. Under a dedicated mentor, you will gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication and production scheduling.

You will learn costing, budgeting, and use of the company business system while contributing to process improvements and reporting. This role emphasizes structured training, compliance, and steady development toward higher responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel spreadsheets is required.
• 5 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry
• 3 years of experience in high volume manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Develops comprehensive knowledge of Company products and procedures through on-the-job training.
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of Tube Laser, Flat Laser, and Press Brake operations.
• Develops knowledge of efficient utilization of materials and develops a full understanding of cuts and yields.
• Learns how to operate the Company’s business system in order to perform required administrative functions.
• Develops detailed knowledge of product costing.
• Develops an understanding of the production scheduling process.
• Supervises activities consistent with all Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Develops working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, efficiency standards, and safety.
• Develops working knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and practices.
• Develops a detailed understanding of operations by touring other UFP facilities and customer locations.
• Completes courses and assignments as directed.
• Prepares various reports as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
