Apogee Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician II for our Wausau facility. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and skilled repairs of complex production equipment, with emphasis on safety procedures and accurate record-keeping.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, using a range of fabrication tools. Collaboration with engineering and operations is essential to minimize downtime and ensure quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance.
• 10+ years as a maintenance mechanic, journeyman preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confided space and fall protection.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex manufacturing equipment.
• Operate welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters and power tools.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff and operators to resolve issues.

Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs equipment problems. Complete equipment modifications and relocations with direction from a project leader. Log equipment repairs, modification and maintenance details in the designated system.**Key Responsibilities**Always follow safety procedures, including lock out-tag out, confined space and fall protection. Proficiency in many complex maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting mechanical issues, repairing equipment, and performing preventative maintenance. Ability to operate all common types of tools and maintenance equipment such as welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters, and power tools. Ability to operate medium to heavy duty equipment, including man and material lifts. Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions to restore equipment to proper working condition. Replace or repair defective components, parts, or systems as needed. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production operators to resolve equipment issues promptly.
