Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Garland, Texas, is seeking individuals for an hourly manufacturing position. The individual will support production operations and operate machinery while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Essential duties include managing equipment for manufacturing Lunchables, maintaining a clean workspace, and achieving cost and quality objectives. Job Description

Under direction of the supervisor, this person will perform various miscellaneous job tasks within the department. In cooperation with the line crew, the position supports departmental production operations and has the responsibility and authority to achieve cost, quality, safety, morale, and service objectives.

Hourly manufacturing position.

Shift: 3rd, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM.

Starting wage: $21.26 + $1.00 shift differential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties, including those not specifically related to the Primary Packaging positions, may be assigned.

  • Utility Operators, Supply/Relief, Scale Operator, Slicer Operator, Casepacker, Cheese Harp Operator, Cracker Operator, and Tray Denester.
  • Responsible for proper operation of assigned equipment in manufacturing Lunchables according to packaging specifications, finished product specifications, and all safety requirements. This includes getting supplies, loading supplies, operating machines, clearing jams and restarting machine, and monitoring machine performance.
  • Will be trained and rotate to primary packaging equipment.
  • Operate by the HACCP plans for the product line.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all GMP’s and safety policies such as LO/TO and PPE.
  • Operate under the Kraft Heinz Safety Values.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury‑free environment.
  • Review work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and report hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to Line Leads.
  • Effectively utilize HMI display and make minor adjustments per SKU needs.
  • Detect when adjustments are required based on machine observations and performance, respond to machine faults promptly and correctly for maximum machine uptime. Communicate electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Detect supply problems and machine problems and respond appropriately.
  • Assist in product changeovers on the line, including mechanical changeovers on each individual piece of equipment.
  • Be self‑motivated, able to work in a team environment, and communicate effectively.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percent; and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift and/or move up to 10 lb, frequently up to 25 lb, and occasionally up to 100 lb. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is cold (38–42 °F). Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually loud.
