Job summary

Prysmian Group in Abbeville, SC is seeking a Production Line Operator to set up and run machinery, calibrate speeds, feed materials, and perform quality checks to meet customer specifications.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability across 8–12 hour shifts with regular attendance; prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required, with training provided and a focus on zero to minimal scrap.

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills required.
  • In-house forklift training provided.
  • On shop floor computer training, including SAP and MDC.
  • Ability to read measuring equipment (OD tapes, calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (speed).
  • Feed material to semi-automated machines.
  • Perform quality checks with measuring devices.
  • React to issues during shift; maintain output quality.
  • Maintain attendance and shift discipline; follow SOPs/TI documentation.
  • Change machine over from one product to another efficiently and correctly.
  • String machine and select correct dies; produce quality product with minimal scrap.

Ensure efficient running of production. Work with attention to detail, following safety standards and have a willingness to learn and improve.
