Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA seeks a Weeknight Production Lead to oversee the day shift production team, driving safety, quality, and efficiency. You will lead packaging, processing and sanitation, monitor attendance, guide performance, and schedule staff to meet daily goals.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll ensure compliance with GMP and SQF, maintain data in the ERP system, and promote continuous improvement through RedZone and 6S principles.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with packaging machinery and production operations.
• Strong English communication; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Supervisor in leading all packaging, processing and sanitation activities.
• Monitor daily attendance, evaluate performance and train personnel.
• Assist with scheduling to meet daily production requirements.
• Fill in for department functions and manage breaks.
• Monitor equipment operations and report breakdowns to maintenance.
• Ensure production of quality product and adherence to standards.
• Record and maintain data integrity in the ERP system.
• Apply RedZone, 6S, and continuous improvement practices.
• Use EAM to enter work orders and track maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a safety-first culture and environment.
• Follow GMP, food safety practices and SQF requirements.
• Perform other duties supporting company objectives.

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a passionate and experienced Weeknight Production Lead to join our dedicated leadership team at the Broadway facility in Hanover, PA. In this role, you’ll play a key part in overseeing our day shift production team, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and to our high-quality standards. Responsibilities

• Assists Production Supervisor in leading all packaging, processing, and sanitation activities.
• Monitors daily attendance, evaluates individual performance and trains personnel to ensure standards are met.
• Assists with scheduling personnel in an efficient manner in order to meet daily production requirements.
• Fill in for various department functions when needed and give breaks.
• Monitors equipment operations and communicates breakdowns to maintenance.
• Ensures production of quality product by ensuring all processing and packaging standards are upheld.
• Integral to executing and monitoring tasks to maintain data integrity/accuracy in ERP data system.
• Maintains a working knowledge and utilizes RedZone, 6S Principles and Continuous Improvement.
• Uses EAM to enter work orders and track preventative maintenance tasks.
• Responsible for maintaining a safety-first culture and work environment.
• Follows and enforces all GMP, food safety practices, and all applicable requirements of the SQF system.
• Performs other duties as assigned that impact and support the overall outcome of company objectives.

Requirements

• Must be able to work the scheduled shift of Sunday - Wednesday, 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
• Experience with packaging machinery and production operations preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, math, and analytical abilities.l>
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift moderate weight and move skids as needed.
• Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Additional post-high school education preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
