Job description

Role Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production activities on assigned shifts or production lines, including packing operations and manufacturing/blending processes. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met while supporting team development and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Lead acts as the primary point of contact for production staff during their shift.

Key Accountabilities
  • Shift Supervision - Oversee production staff during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Team Leadership - Provide guidance, coaching, and support to production staff; facilitate communication and workflow coordination.
  • Production Execution - Ensure production targets are met by monitoring line performance, troubleshooting issues, and reallocating resources as needed.
  • Quality & Compliance - Monitor adherence to GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements; report deviations to management. Participates in daily communication with staff & TNT supervisors regarding quality issues related to production schedule and/or production issues. Ensures compliance with all applicable food regulations
  • Reporting & Documentation - Track and report production metrics, equipment performance, and staff performance to the Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager.
  • Training & Development - Assist in training new employees, promoting best practices, and maintaining team competency.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow. Initiates projects designed to evaluate and improve quality related to production of food products.
  • Safety & Workplace Standards - Enforce safety protocols, promote a safe work environment, and ensure staff compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operations.

Food Safety Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring appropriate production schedule is followed and all GMP, Allergen, HACCP and food safety requirements are met. Ensuring staff is appropriately trained in GMP and food safety responsibilities at their designated stations.
