Job summary

Altium Packaging is seeking a Group Lead for our Franklin, MA facility to supervise production, maintenance, and quality activities. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and compliance with blueprints and work orders while guiding a team across multiple departments to meet daily targets.

You'll drive continuous improvement, mentor new employees, and ensure equipment readiness, accurate reporting, and a safe, productive work environment. Evening shift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in manufacturing or related field.
• High School diploma required.
• Associates degree or equivalent preferred.

Job Overview

Location: 1253 W Central Street, Franklin, Massachusetts 02038.

Work Shift: 8hr-3rd Shift (United States of America).

Roles and Responsibilities

Safety:

• Champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior.
• Monitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective action.
• Communicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies.
• Prepares training plans and conducts or assigns safety, maintenance, machine operation and quality assurance training to new employees.
• Prepares documentation and provides performance feedback to introductory employees.
• Provides feedback to plant leaders concerning employee performance and behavior.
• Ensures employees have required tools, supplies and area to exercise their duties.

Production:

• Operates blow mold machines and other related equipment.
• Analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other data to drive production requirements.
• Performs and/or assigns personnel to conduct audits, weights and quality checks.
• Troubleshoots and resolves process problems and makes minor repairs to blow-mold and support equipment.
• Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and other.

Maintenance:

• Loads and unloads trucks and secures product in accordance with customer requirements; inspects incoming materials.
• Performs mold, neck tooling, pin and other equipment changes.
• Installs, adjusts, and repairs blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers and other related equipment.
• Troubleshoots, locates root problems, and repairs blow mold, baggers and support equipment or PLC programming issues.

Warehouse:

• Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
• Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.

Quality:

• Develops and implements quality related training programs for all employees.
• Applies statistical tools and techniques to monitor plant performance and finished goods.
• Performs in-process inspections of manufactured product during molding, packaging and loading.
• Communicates quality issues and out of specifications conditions to plant leaders.
• Completes laboratory testing and collects samples at established intervals.

Other:

• Group Lead will have responsibility for two or more departments (i.e. Production, Warehouse, etc.).
• Lead will have responsibility for one mid-to-large department or a limited number of shift employees.
• Other duties and roles may be assigned by plant management.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-3 years experience
• High School diploma

Targeted Pay Range

$29.52 - $37.69
