Job summary

Wyldcanna in Ridgefield, New Jersey is seeking a Production Lead to oversee daily cooking, mixing, and production operations within our cannabis edibles facility. You will lead a team, maintain QA/QC, and ensure safety compliance while meeting production deadlines.

The role requires at least 1 year of food production or kitchen supervisory experience, proficiency with sanitation standards, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

  • 1 year or more directly related food production/kitchen experience, plus 1 year lead/supervisory experience
  • Experience with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to travel occasionally between buildings/sites
  • ServSafe or Food Handler’s Card preferred
  • Background check will be required and state permits/licenses/certifications must be obtained

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store all facility consumables and products
  • Set up ingredients, workstations and equipment; perform regular equipment checks
  • Maintain high QA/QC standards for weights, appearance and flavor
  • Manage time and team to meet daily production schedules
  • Work well with others in high-pressure situations with urgency
  • Infuse ingredients by proper scraping, turning, lifting and rotation
  • Read, record and communicate kitchen data, counts, measurements and weights
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Store products per safety practices and maintain sanitation
  • Conduct visual quality inspections and minimize waste
  • Communicate information and respond to questions from various levels
  • Assist Supervisors/Managers in training Production Support staff
  • Raise quality/safety discrepancies to Supervisors/Managers/Directors
  • Provide recommendations on personnel evaluation and training for Production Support
  • Assist Production Manager or Supervisor as needed
  • Maintain safe working environment; discuss safety topics daily
  • Assist with Packaging as needed
  • Other duties as required by business needs

Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prep, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store all facility consumables and products
  • Accurately prepare ingredients, workstations and equipment for production, including performing regular checks to ensure equipment is functioning correctly
  • Maintain high-quality standards during shifts include constant QA/QC of all products being prepped and produced with regard to weights, appearance of product and flavor profile
  • Effectively manage your time and that of your team to stay on schedule to meet daily production expectations
  • Ability to work well with others in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency
  • Correctly infuse by thoroughly scraping, turning, lifting and rotating for the appropriate time
  • Accurately read, record and communicate all kitchen data, counts, measurements and weights
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products; storing food products in compliance with safety practices
  • Maintain and comply with sanitation and safety standards; maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and work environment
  • Perform visual quality inspections on products, minimize waste where possible
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
  • Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Production Support employees on proper procedures, techniques and compliance protocol
  • Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers and/or Directors
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Production Support team
  • Assist the Production Manager or Production Supervisor as needed
  • Ensure a safe working environment; reviewing and communicating daily on all safety related topics of discussion
  • Assist with Packaging responsibilities as required
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or kitchen environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Must have experience and familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
  • Ability to maintain/manage confidential information
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • ServSafe or Food Handler’s Card preferred
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications
Benefits

As a non-exempt employee, you'll receive an hourly rate of $24.50-$29.55/hr. paid biweekly, 11 paid holidays, 80 hours of PTO, 401K, and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
