Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a supervisor for night shift to train and motivate team members, directing operations and planning improvements to meet production goals. You will prepare work areas for start-up, coordinate resources, and promote safety and quality through regular checks and feedback.

The role requires English proficiency, math skills, and the ability to work across departments. A pallet jack license is preferred or can be obtained within 30 days; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Pilgrims experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations.
  • Working knowledge of production operation.
  • Working knowledge of supervisory management practices and principles.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in a manner that maintains harmony with co-workers.
  • Ability to analyze and respond to production problems.
  • Basic computer skills (e-mail).
  • Ability to perform all positions within the department.
  • Completes Lockout/ Tagout training and is aware of Lockout/ Tagout safety policies.
  • Valid Pilgrims pallet jack license or ability to obtain license within 30 days.
  • Bilingual skills in languages used within the department preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Trains and motivates team members to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance levels.
  • Directs and monitors the operations of assigned processes and plans improvements.
  • Promotes goodwill through proactive team member communication and safety policy adherence.
  • Schedules people, materials and equipment to optimize resources and meet production needs.
  • Offers feedback for team member performance evaluations.
  • Monitors equipment and conducts minor adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Performs quality checks and implements changes to maintain standards.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and assists with safety audits and investigations.
  • Assists in quality improvement, cost reduction, method improvement, yield control and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists in enforcing Pilgrim’s Animal Welfare policy.
  • Backups all department positions as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

  • Monitor equipment making minor adjustments or repairs to ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained, as well as preparing or coordinating the preparation of the work area for start-up.
  • Performs quality checks to monitor quality levels and makes necessary changes to maintain quality standards.
  • Recognizes safety hazards, performs safety audits and assists with accident investigation.
  • Assists in investigation of quality improvement, cost reduction, method improvement, yield control and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists in enforcing the Pilgrims Animal Welfare policy.

What you’ll need :
