Aerotek is seeking a Production Team Lead to support the Production Supervisor and lead a workstation team in Bethel, CT. The role combines hands-on production work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring quality, throughput, and safety targets are met in a fast-paced environment.

The Production Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor while operating as a highly skilled production operator. This position coordinates activities within a defined workstation team, ensures compliance with procedures, performs quality control checks, provides first-level technical support, moves product in and out of the work area, assists with training, and actively contributes as an operator to meet quality, throughput, and safety goals.
Coordinate daily activities within the workstation team to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Accurately prepare and maintain documents, production sheets, reports, and related paperwork as required by the contracting customer.
Verify counts and record production work on daily production sheets, and transfer data into customer databases or profiles, ensuring all reports are completed on time and are accurate.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and share relevant information and best practices with other members of the workstation team.
Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities, assigning individuals to specific job tasks based on their skills and capabilities.
Proactively communicate issues that may affect production to minimize downtime whenever possible.
Demonstrate job duties to workers and observe their performance to ensure adherence to procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Encourage all members of the production team to stay on task and consistently meet quality and throughput targets.
Clearly communicate objectives, expectations, and results to all team members and ensure workers have the materials and supplies necessary to complete their tasks.
Coordinate and ensure the proper preparation and shipment of finished goods to contracting customers.
Keep the Production Supervisor informed of any issues related to contract performance, including delays or risks that could impact on-time completion.
Provide feedback on worker performance related to quality and quantity to support accurate performance evaluations and recognition.
Act as a technical lead for first-level production problems, assisting with troubleshooting and resolution at the workstation.
Assist with training new or existing team members on processes, procedures, and equipment as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
Perform operator duties as required to support production flow and meet customer requirements.
Carry out other related duties as assigned to support the production operation and team success.
At least 3 years of previous experience in a production environment.
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong supervisory and team leadership skills, including the ability to assign tasks based on individual capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address first-level technical issues on the production floor.
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations for counting, recording, and verifying production data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for preparing reports, production sheets, and documentation.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with equipment and machinery.
Ability to manage inventory-related tasks and support inventory accuracy.
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred experience with inventory management processes and systems.
Background in a large-scale manufacturing facility with many moving parts and cross-functional operations.
Comfort working in a technical production environment where products may support medical and aerospace applications.
Ability to support continuous improvement activities and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and quality.
Strong people skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.

The work takes place in a production setting with substantial equipment and machinery and many moving parts, requiring strong situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols. The facility is clean and temperature‑controlled, offering a comfortable and well‑maintained environment. The organization operates as a global market and technology leader in nitinol, providing nitinol melting and materials, a complete range of nitinol fabrication and finishing, and engineer‑to‑engineer support through prototyping and production phases. The equipment and processes support products primarily used in the medical industry, as well as in aerospace applications, including medical implants that help save lives. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethel, CT.
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr.
