JOB SUMMARY

The Production Internshipis a developmental10-weekprogramroledesigned to provide students with comprehensive, hands-on exposure to Martin Marietta's Aggregates business and mining operations. Reporting directly to plant leadership, the intern willparticipatein an immersive learning experience that combines operational training, leadership development, safety management, and production support within an active aggregate mining environment.

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Martin Marietta's safety culture and environmental compliance standards.
• Observe,identify, and communicate safety concerns, near misses, and potential operational risks.
• Support compliance with MSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
• Assistwith workplace inspections, safety audits, corrective actions, and incident prevention initiatives.
• Ensure all activities are conductedin accordance withMartin Marietta's Mission, Vision, Values, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
• Learn and support all stages of aggregate production from extraction through finished product shipment.
• Gain practical understanding of quarry planning, production scheduling, and material flow management.
• Assistin monitoring plant performance, operating efficiency, and production targets.
• Observe and participate in daily production activities under appropriate supervision.
• Support production teams inmaintainingconsistent throughput and product quality.
• Develop knowledge of material processing equipment and system interactions throughout the plant.
• Safelyoperatedesignated plant and mobile equipment after successful completion of required training and authorization.
• Participate in aggregate quality control testing and material sampling activities.
• Support efforts to ensure compliance with customer specifications and product standards.
• Work closely with plant managers, supervisors, and operations leaders to understand effective leadership practices.
• Observe and learn the responsibilities associated with managing production teams and plant performance.
• Develop skills in communication, problem solving, decision making, accountability, and team collaboration.
• Participate in leadership development activities designed to prepare future operations professionals.
• Build relationships across multiple functional areas including operations, maintenance, engineering,logistics, and quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Currently pursuing aBachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Valid Driver’s License

Work Experience

• No work experience isrequired; 6 months – 1 year of prior internship or a combination of internship and work experience, is preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.

Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able tomaintainthree points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.

Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depthperceptionwith or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.

Working Conditions

All duties require outside assignmentsand requireperiods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry,and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.

COMPENSTION

The hiring range for this position is$25.00 - $30.00exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position
