In this role you will join a passionate group supporting the production and manufacturing of rocket engine components for the BE-7 Lunar Lander Engine. This will entail troubleshooting manufacturing challenges and finding resolutions for non-conforming hardware throughout engine development, qualification and production. You will also develop design improvements for rocket engine components and assemblies helping us transition to a flight production environment. You will drive design for manufacturability improvements and update assembly procedures for our flight engines identified through root cause analyses, engine manufacturing, testing, and cost reduction opportunities. You will detail and release changes within CAD models/drawings using appropriate configuration management processes. To be successful in this position, you will need to be able to balance multiple technical issues. We value team members committed to continuous learning and who foster a collaborative environment.

Some components you could be responsible for include: pressurized fluid systems, rotating hardware, machining of 3D printed components, brazed and welded assemblies, and precision assembly.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience with component design, fabrication, build, and assembly.
  • Experience examining, and providing resolutions for, non-conforming hardware and supporting the machining and manufacturing of aerospace components.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and large assembly model and configuration management (Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM preferred).
  • Experience in the design of turbomachinery, valves, or combustion devices.

  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, treatments, and manufacturing methods.
  • Continuous improvement process experience (DMAIC, PDSA, etc.)
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility.
  • Experience with production quality management systems. Experience transitioning products from development to production.

Inclusivity Statement
