Job summary

Benchmark Electronics in Minnesota is seeking a Production Inspector to perform routine visual, mechanical and electrical inspections of printed circuit boards, systems and sub‑assemblies across production steps. You will follow detailed instructions, verify placement and labeling, and enter data into ERP systems to maintain accurate records.

You will perform rework and solder tasks as needed, support continuous improvement, and work under close supervision while ensuring quality and process

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in basic electronics manufacturing.
  • May perform PIR, WPI, FPI, AOI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective multitasking and ability to take on additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List and other relevant written instructions.
  • Inspect for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies.
  • Obtain paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment and verify the paperwork as the correct effective date.
  • Verify placement, polarity and labels on circuit boards.
  • Use Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
  • Perform minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.
  • Perform minimal hand solder operations on PCB assemblies.
  • Complete necessary routing tasks per procedure.
  • Enter board/systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.
  • Input data into PFS.
  • Perform duties under close supervision.
  • Check configuration on all assemblies.
  • Provide timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate.
  • Follow and maintain accurate process documentation and suggest improvements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work on problems of limited scope using standard practices to obtain answers.
  • Build stable working relationships internally.
  • Ensure BEI meets or exceeds customer satisfaction with your work.

Summary

The Production Inspector performs routine visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems and sub‑assemblies at several points in the operation for quality in compliance with required standards.

Responsibilities

Benefits and Compensation

Compensation Range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD. Compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data and other business needs.
