Production Forklift Operator

Work Location: 14 ½ Mile Road & Mound Road, Sterling Heights, MI Employment Type: Full-Time | Union Position

Pay & Shift Opportunities

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM | $17.50/hour
• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM | $19.00/hour (includes $1.50/hour shift premium)

Position Summary

We are looking for dependable and safety-minded Production Forklift Operators to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for moving materials throughout the facility, keeping production lines properly supplied, and transporting finished products to designated staging and storage areas.

The successful candidate will be a reliable team player with strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility.
• Ensure production lines receive the necessary materials to maintain consistent workflow and prevent delays.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials in designated production and storage areas.
• Remove completed products from production lines and deliver them to appropriate staging or storage locations.
• Verify material identification, quantities, and placement to ensure accuracy.
• Follow production schedules and established material handling procedures.
• Complete routine forklift inspections and report any equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety hazards.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of potential hazards.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, forklift operating guidelines, and applicable OSHA regulations.
• Work collaboratively with production employees, supervisors, and other team members.
• Perform other production-related and material handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of workplace surroundings.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required by production needs.
• Ability to follow all established safety guidelines and forklift operating procedures.
• Must successfully pass a national background check as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule

Available shifts include:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.
• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM.
• Overtime: Additional hours may be required based on production needs.
• Weekends: Availability may be required as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• 1st Shift: Starting pay of $17.50 per hour.
• 3rd Shift: Starting pay of $19.00 per hour, including a $1.50 per hour shift premium.
• Employment Status: Full-Time, Union Position.
• Paid Time Off: Available after 90 days of employment.
