ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are seeking a motivated Production Equipment Operator to join our team. This non-exempt (hourly) position is responsible for properly reading and executing work orders to meet customer requirements in a timely manner. The role typically reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager and involves working in accordance with Triple-S Steel's safety standards. Overtime hours may be required to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Triple-S Steel's safe work methods at all times and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Manipulate, cut, and/or form raw materials according to work orders to meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain and operate tools and equipment safely, including tape measure, caliper, shear, CNC burning table, band saw, iron worker, track burner, haven tube cutter, forklift, overhead crane, and personal protective equipment.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 20 feet to heights of 5 feet; exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly; move objects, reach, squat, stand, walk up to 2 miles per day, and climb stairs, ladders, and equipment while wearing PPE.
  • Maintain spatial awareness to navigate the work environment safely.
  • Use clear vision to monitor ongoing work activities and ensure safety.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulence.
  • Attend all required company meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and understand work orders or follow oral instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Intermediate math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to meet or exceed productivity standards safely.
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently and work well in a team.
  • Knowledge of material and inventory control techniques.
  • Effective communication with other departments regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Visual abilities required include close, distance, color vision, and focus adjustment.
