Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA is seeking a Sr Production Equipment Operator to safely operate and maintain production equipment for our nutrition products. You will keep accurate records, ensure materials are available, troubleshoot issues, and perform on-line quality checks to meet FDA and Abbott standards.

Working a day shift (6am–6:30pm, rotating weeks) with a strong focus on safety and compliance, you will contribute to a team that supports millions of families worldwide with nutrition brands like

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math, good verbal and written communication skills.
• Some mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our nutrition products.
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation.
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure that products and materials are properly identified with correct codes and expiration dates.
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests.
