Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA is seeking a Sr Production Equipment Operator for night shift. You will operate and maintain production equipment, document processes, and manage materials for high-speed lines in a leading nutrition manufacturing facility.

The role emphasizes compliance with FDA/OSHA policies, quality checks, and proper product identification. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and some prior manufacturing exposure.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain production equipment, including high-speed lines.
• Maintain accurate, legible records and documentation.
• Ensure adequate supply of materials for equipment in operation.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper identification, codes and expiration dates of products and materials.
• Conduct periodic on-line quality inspections and offline quality tests.

What You’ll Work On

• Safely operate, clean and help maintain the production related equipment both complex and standard high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products
• Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation
• Maintain an adequate supply of materials for the equipment in operation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates.
• Perform periodic on-line visual quality inspections and offline quality tests

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Shift

This is for the night shift. Example of shift :

Shift Hours : 6pm to 6 :30 am, on a rotating basis.

Week One : Mon - On / Tues - On / Weds - Off / Thurs - Off / Fri - On / Sat - On / Sun - On

Week Two : Mon - Off / Tues - Off / Weds - On / Thurs - On / Fri - Off / Sat - Off / Sun - Off

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months prior manufacturing experience
• Proficiency in basic math, good verbal and written communication skills
• Some mechanical aptitude

The base pay for this position is $17.15 – $34.25 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
