Hillman Brass & Copper seeks a Saw Operator to join the production team. The role handles sawing of steel stock, crane and conveyor operations, and material movement. Overtime may be required to meet customer needs. This is a non-exempt hourly position reporting to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include operating saws and handling heavy equipment, with safety and accuracy as priorities in a processing environment. Indoor/outdoor work with variable weather is expected.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Saw Operator to join our production team. This non-exempt (hourly) position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the saw and material handling processes. The Saw Operator cuts steel stock to customer specifications, safely operates production equipment, and assists with inventory movement throughout the facility. Overtime hours may be required to meet customer needs.

• Operation of saw

• Lifting of overhead chains / hooks
• Maintaining saw and conveyor system.
• Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects.
• Use clear vision to judge near and far distance to maintain awareness of ongoing work activities of other employees.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Production Equipment Operator will be regularly exposed to the typical weather of the local area.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Use hands/fingers to handle, or feel and talk or hear

Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.

Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
