Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Lee County MS area, is seeking a Production Engineer Specialist to join their team. This salaried role offers opportunities to analyze processes, drive improvements, and support new product launches.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and 1+ years of production engineering experience, with proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar tools preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
• Develop, implement, and monitor production standards, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to improve overall plant performance.
• Support new product launches and process development activities.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow evaluations.
• Develop and implement process controls to ensure consistent production quality.
• Monitor production metrics and prepare reports on efficiency, scrap reduction, downtime, and labor utilization.
• Assist with equipment selection, installation, validation, and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Train production personnel on new processes, procedures, and equipment.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and corrective action implementation.
