Job summary

EQT Corporation is seeking a Production Engineer to drive optimization and asset integrity across wells and facilities. You will provide technical support for optimization of well performance, ensure economics for projects, and focus on zero incidents and zero emissions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, petroleum engineering).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to take ownership and lead projects as needed, and function as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas production to include well optimization through various lift methods.
• Strong understanding of process flow and equipment used for separation of fluids in oil/gas wells.
• Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics knowledge.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Extreme Ownership Mentality.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work flexible hours incl. weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to optimize well performance.
• Ensure best-in-class economics for proposed projects and zero incidents/zero emissions.
• Own Production Standards and Optimization Best Practices.
• Provide technical expertise across well optimization phases (TIL/Flat-Time Decline/Artificial Lift).
• Review daily well performance and plan actions for underperforming wells/pads.
• Conduct semi-annual route reviews to identify production/economy indicators.
• Interface with operations for assigned area and coordinate across departments.
• Develop scopes of work and economic justifications for capital, flowback, and plugging projects.
• Prepare economic and operational lookbacks on completed projects.
• Develop operational guidelines and SOPs and train field personnel.
• Optimize chemical program for flow assurance and asset integrity.

Here is how the Production Engineering role will impact our business:

The production engineer is responsible for providing technical support to achieve optimization of well performance, assurance of best-in-class economics for all proposed projects and a focus on zero incidents / zero emissions.

The Production Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• “Owner” of Production Standards, Optimization Best Practices and Chemical Program Implementation
• Providing technical expertise in all phases of well optimization (TIL / Flat-Time Decline / Artificial Lift Design and Installation / Plugging)
• Complete daily reviews of well performance and developing plans of actions for wells / pads that are not meeting production and controllable downtime goals.
• Complete semi-annual route reviews with operational team in order to identify production / economic leading and lagging indicators that can be used / adjusted to achieve team goals.
• Serve as the engineering interface with operational team (field and leadership) for assigned area of operations.
• Serve as the production contact for the Asset Performance/Reservoir, Completions, Drilling departments
• Providing scopes of work and economic justification for all proposed maintenance capital, flowback and well plugging projects.
• Completing economic and operational lookbacks for all completed maintenance capital, flowback and well plugging projects.
• Developing operational guidelines and standard operating procedures for all applicable practices.
• Supporting operational leadership by providing training support for all field personnel.
• Optimizing the chemical program for assigned area of responsibility in order to provide flow assurance, freeze / hydrate prevention and asset integrity.

Required Experience and Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in engineering
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, petroleum engineering)
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to take ownership and lead projects as needed, and function as part of a team
• Strong understanding of oil and gas production to include well optimization through the use of plunger lift / compression / gas lift / rod lift
• Strong understanding of process flow and equipment used for separation of fluids on common oil and gas production wells
• Strong understanding of Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Extreme Ownership Mentality
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work flexible work hours inclusive of weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in oil and gas industry as a Production or Operations Engineer
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience to include Visio
• Familiarization with:
• Well / Performance Troubleshooting
• Production Chemical Deployment
• Smartsheet
• Well Intervention Techniques / Methods
• Process Flow for standard Dry Gas Facilities
• SCADA familiarization (high level navigation)

Hybrid (field, remote, office) work is being considered for this role.
