Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Project Engineer to design and modify materials and final products across non-refrigeration areas, meeting customer and internal needs.

You will complete various engineering projects, including capital improvements and new machine acquisitions to boost production efficiency. You’ll collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams, develop and test production processes, and apply lean principles to drive continuous improvements in premium consumer cooking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 2+ years related experience in manufacturing/design engineering.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Job description

The Production Engineering Department is made up of two groups: Process Engineering (supporting assembly lines/areas) and Project Engineering. A Project Engineer designs and modifies materials, assemblies, and final products in all non-refrigeration related areas to meet customer and internal needs. Project Engineers also complete a variety of engineering project work that also includes new machine acquisitions that improve the efficiency of our production areas. The Process Engineers provide all levels of support to manufacturing, develop assembly lines, move models between plants, work closely with quality and resolve field issues.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Help design, test, and manufacture premium consumer cooking products.Assist with quality improvements, refreshes, facelifts, and new product development.Interface cross-functionally to ensure product design is consumer focused and designed for manufacturing.Ability to execute test plans to create products compliant with regulatory requirements for consumer cooking.Develop production processes and above-and-beyond testing specifically for premium consumer cooking products.Be part of a cross functional team that works to best utilize internal resources.Assist with developing and delivering production design projects and capital improvement projects from start-up through implementation.Apply Lean principles to new processes and production areas.Deliver quality engineering solutions to internal/external customers.Work with suppliers to develop solutions, quotes, and return on investment for various projects.Ability to study processes, conduct time studies and use information to develop improvements.Create/update production area layouts using ACAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks for design work.Design, develop, and implement new assembly lines/areas.Work with all facets of production and various degrees of skill sets to achieve a common goal.Develop process work instructions for new equipment and/or new procedures.Liaison between customers and workers from different specialty disciplinesDevelop ideas to improve safety, quality, productivity, and production flexibility.Collect, compile, and analyze data on manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve production processes.Develop ergonomic improvements for manufacturing processes as needed.Occasional Travel domestically and internationally as needed.The Production Engineer is an office-based role. Regular, predictable on-site attendance is required. Eligibility for up to one (1) remote workday per week may be permitted, subject to business needs and departmental guidelines.Perform core job responsibilities through regular in-person collaboration, including participation in meetings, team discussions, and cross-functional coordination.Collaborate with fellow team members and leadership in a shared work environment to support innovation and timely decision-making, problem-solving, and operational effectiveness.Maintain a consistent on-site presence to support and respond to day-to-day business needs, including attendance of scheduled meetings and real-time collaboration as needed to ensure alignment of department and company priorities.Meet regularly with manager in-person to align on workload, priorities, performance, and ongoing professional development.Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field required.Two or more years of related experience required.Strong time management skills including multitasking, prioritization, forward planning, and adherence to deadlines with minimal supervision.Ability to be assertive and diplomatic when interacting with co-workers.Display a positive attitude and support the direction and policies of the Company.Strong mechanical aptitudeAbility to lead people, obtain commitment from team members, and achieve results through others.Positive attitude, team player, open minded, innovative engineer that will support the direction and policies of the Company.Ability to think ahead, set daily and weekly goals, and create action plans to achieve results.Ability to prioritize and multi-task while keeping projects on time.Be the “support” mechanism for the internal customers.Self-motivated, responsible individual that requires minimal direction.Creative thinker – “Idea” person – ability to find/develop own ideas that lead to continuous improvement.Preferred:2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing/design engineering.Consumer appliance experience.Experience developing gas oven cavities and gas surface burners.Experience with electric appliances on hot side.Experience with induction and electric surface elements for indoor/outdoor cooking.Sheet metal fabrication experience.Lean experience.The hours for this position are 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.Company-paid background check required upon hire.
